Dental Implants

Losing a tooth not only affects your appearance, it also impacts the everyday functioning of your mouth. A dental implant provides the same look and function of a normal tooth, helping you chew, talk and smile again with ease. An artificial root, in the form of a small titanium screw, is inserted into the jawbone and a small healing cap is placed over it to protect the root as it heals. The root has to integrate itself into the jawbone, so as to provide a sturdy, permanent structure. This may take several months and you can be fitted with a temporary crown as it heals. Dental implants are the best way to get natural-looking teeth in the long run. For more information contact Smile Lab today, let’s work together to find a solution for you!

All-on-4 Dental Implants

All-on-4 dental implants are specially designed for people who have lost all their teeth or have  poor quality of teeth. Using four dental implants for a natural looking restoration, the All-on-4 treatment could have you leaving Smile Lab with a set of functional, temporary teeth in one day! Benefits of All-on-4 implants include:

  • Treatment is complete in just one day if the patient meets criteria.
  • Bone grafting is not often required – less invasive treatment.
  • Quality of life – your appearance will improve and you will regain full function of your mouth.
  • Shorter treatment times – with only four implants needed treatment is faster and more affordable.

Using computer-guided imagery, Dr. Waise Ebrahimi will determine the four best areas to place the implants in the jawbone. You can be fitted with a temporary denture as you wait for the implants to heal and root themselves to the jawbone, which typically takes a few months. Once ready you will be fitted with your permanent denture, now all you have to do is smile and have fun!

Bone Grafting

Our jawbones provide a foundation for our teeth, and if needed, a dental implant. If this bone has been weakened or damaged by injury, gum disease or abscesses, it won’t be possible to support an implant. Bone grafting can help regenerate the bone. At your appointment, we will assess the amount of bone available using our 3D imagining. If sufficient bone loss is present, we can regenerate missing tissue with a bone graft. This involves placing artificial grafting material underneath the gum so it will fuse with your jawbone to create a sturdy structure for an implant. Bone grafting varies on a case-by-case basis. Contact our New York, NY clinic today so Dr. Waise Ebrahimi can assess you for this, and any of our dental implant treatments.
